Brandon Rossel, Mirabelle Lee & Piper Juhan Once Filmed a Nickelodeon Pilot Titled 'Sit and Stay Pet Café' ---ScRaBBlE

It was recently revealed that Nickelodeon once filmed a pilot for a potential new preschool series titled Sit and Stay Pet Café!

The pilot starred young actors Brandon Rossel (The Outsiders Club) and Mirabelle Lee (Veep), one half of the Lee twins, and Piper Juhan, who were aged 12, nine and nine, respectively when the episode was filmed.

The pilot also featured actor Scott Farley (Hamlet... A Puppet Epic!) as the voice of principal character Slick.

Co-created and co-produced by Heather Tilert, Sit and Stay Pet Café was set to be a narrative live-action preschool series featuring kids and live animals. The pilot episode was 22-minutes long and produced by Nickelodeon, Sinking Ship Entertainment / J.J. Johnson. The pilot was filmed in Canada, including in the Chedoke-Cootes (Ward 1) area of the City of Hamilton between Sep 07, 2016 - Sep 13, 2016.

Prior to serving as the co-creator and co-producer of Sit and Stay Pet Café, Tilert served as Manager, Digital Content Development; Director, Digital Content Development; Senior Director, Digital Content Development; and Executive In Charge of Production at Nickelodeon.

For the pilot, Courtney Goldman (Dino Dana, Odd Squad, Annedroids, The Next Step) served as editor, Brian Rocafort (Odd Squad) served as First Assistant Camera Operator, and Joan Hug-Valeriote served as the on-set tutor for the child actors.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Nickelodeon greenlit Sit & Stay Pet Café to series, with the trademark for the show expiring due to "abandonment" in February 2018.

Since filming the pilot, Brandon, Mirabelle, Piper and Scott have gone on to film other projects. Brandon will be starring in Disney Channel's upcoming comedy Fast Layne, Piper was featured in an episode of Good Behavior in 2017, Scott featured in the television series The Handmaid's Tale, and Mirabelle starred alongside her twin sister, Anais in a season one episode of Nickelodeon's Lip Sync Battle Shorties! In the episode, the duo performed “I Love It” by Icona Pop.

In fact, Mirabelle and Anais Lee are no strangers to Nickelodeon viewers. They've also appeared in commercials for Nick Jr.'s Shimmer and Shine, and have also voiced characters in Nick Jr.'s Bubble Guppies!

Talking about filming the pilot of Sit and Stay Pet Café, Anais revealed that Mirabelle made her #1 best friend when filming a Nickelodeon pilot, and that they've been best friends ever since!

Nickelodeon's new animated preschool series, Butterbean’s Café

Preschoolers will be whisked away on magical culinary adventures in Nickelodeon’s brand-new CG-animated series, Butterbean’s Café, premiering Monday 25th February 2019 at 8:30am (AEST) on Nick Jr. Australia! Following launch, new episodes of Butterbean’s Café will air regularly weekdays at 8:30am (AEST) on the Nick Jr. channel in Australia.

The news follows Butterbean’s Café launching on Nick Jr. New Zealand on Monday 4th February 2019.

Created by Robert Scull and Jonny Belt (Bubble Guppies), Butterbean’s Café, the series (40 episodes) centres on a fairy named Butterbean and her adventures running her neighborhood café and bakery, and showcases creative cooking and features a curriculum with social-emotional lessons that highlight kindness and gratitude, and leadership skills.

In the series, Butterbean, her fairy friends--Dazzle, Poppy and Jasper --and her little sister Cricket take pride in serving up healthy snacks and sweet treats to the residents in their community of Puddlebrook. Butterbean’s special magic beans, the fairies’ enchanted kitchen tools and the team’s can-do spirit all combine to make their cafe the most awesome eatery in town.



In Butterbean’s Café’s series premiere, "Grandma Nana Banana Bread!"; "Lots and Lots of Lemons!", Dazzle wants to surprise her grandma by making her banana bread recipe, but she can't remember the last ingredient; Then later, when Ms. Marmalady switches Jasper's fruit order with a lemon delivery, he's in for a sour surprise!

Peppa Pig Inspiring American Kids to Speak with a British Accent ---ScRaBBlE

You’ve heard of the butterfly effect – now there’s the ‘Peppa Pig effect’

Parents in the U.S. have been noticing that the popular Nick Jr. animated series is influencing and changing their childrens’ accents – giving them an ever-so British English tone.

The preschool show follows the adventures of female pig, Peppa and her family who live in a town full of other animal families. It first aired in 2004 and airs on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. in the U.S.A.

Peppa speaks with a slow-paced, some might say, cute middle-England accent and the impact of her speech has clearly rubbed off on youngsters across the Atlantic.

Mike Lupa said on Twitter: ‘Anyone else’s kids developing a slight British accent after watching Peppa pig?’ ‘She is also snorting like a piggy, but that is expected.’

Alex Raelyn said: ‘My 3 yr old cousin has an english accent from watching peppa pig and i’m jealous.’

Meanwhile mother @_fragilebxnes said: ‘My child won’t stop talking with an accent ever since she started watching peppa pig??? ‘I’d like to thank Peppa Pig for the slight yet adorable British accent my toddler is acquiring. #mum #mummy.’

The response has actually been quite positive from our American cousins who have also noticed Peppa’s occasional snorting being made by their youngsters when they speak.

Dr Emma Byrne, who is the author of Swearing is Good for You: The Amazing Science of Bad Language, told the milennial mums’ website Romper, that the snorting is actually ‘really smart’ and would be the toddler equivalent of using swear words or expressing emotions. But she did say the children would eventually grow out of it.

Sylvester Kabajani added: ‘My 4 year baby girl loves watching peppa pig & I have noticed her accent & grammar is extraordinary, last night I tucked her to sleep & she looks at me & says “daddy, can you snuggle me” I was like what did you just say baby girl? I don’t remember the last time I used that word.’

First Look at Peppa Pig World of Play Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas ---ScRaBBlE

Peppa Pig World of Play opens at Grapevine Mills Mall on Feb. 12, 2019. Take a quick look inside the 14,000 square-foot indoor attraction.

GRAPEVINE, TX - As the attraction manager for the Peppa Pig World of Play, Tyron Calton starts every day by splashing around in muddy puddles. He puts on music and enjoys the satisfying squishing sound as he jumps around in the mud.

Of course it’s not real mud — the floor is covered in carpet with painted brown splotches to represent the puddles. But the sound is real, and it comes from the speakers surrounding the muddy puddle area. And there’s a screen showing Peppa Pig and her family, splashing around in the puddles as well.

It’s Calton’s favorite part of the Peppa Pig World of Play at Grapevine Mills Mall, which opened today (Tuesday, February 12, 2019). The indoor attraction is 14,000 square feet dedicated to all things Peppa Pig. The themed area is part of Entertainment One's (eOne) partnership with Merlin Entertainments (Merlin).

Chances are if you have a kid younger than 10 years old, you already know who Peppa Pig is, but for those who don’t, Peppa Pig is the eponymous star of the British animated preschool television program Peppa Pig, which airs on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. in the U.S. The show follows Peppa, her family and her friends (Suzy Sheep, Rebecca Rabbit and Candy Cat, among others). The episodes cover the typical tropes of children’s programming: playing games, riding bikes and learning how to whistle.

Though Peppa Pig is a British show, she has a huge following outside of the United Kingdom: In fact, the first World of Play opened in Shanghai last year. The World of Play at Grapevine Mills Mall is the first in the United States.

The World of Play has 14 different areas for children to interact and play in, including Peppa Pig's Treehouse, Rebecca Rabbit's Underground Adventure, George's Fort, Grandad Dog's garage, Miss Rabbit at the Supermarket, Madame Gazelle School Bus Trip and Grandpa Pig's Train. There’s even a theater that plays Peppa Pig episodes!

The attraction is marketed toward children younger than 8, and it will be available for birthdays. There’s also a gift shop with Peppa Pig-themed merchandise, and admission will be $20 for children and $10 for adults on weekends and during the summer. On weekdays and during the school year, admission for adults is $5.

The day before the official Peppa Pig World of Play opening, the attraction hosted a preview for families lucky enough to get an invitation. Dozens of children and their parents splashed in the muddy puddles, rode tricycles and slid around in George’s Fort.

Paul Hellman came with his wife, his mother-in-law and his daughter, who was celebrating her second birthday. Hellman said she had just been introduced to Peppa Pig, but loved the World of Play.

“She’s pretty overwhelmed by everything, but she likes it,” he told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Her favorite spot was the toddler garden area, with soft dinosaurs and puzzles to put together and throw around. Though Hellman didn’t want her to play in the bigger kid areas because she was still too small, he plans on coming back with his family.

“We’re from Fort Worth, and we’ll definitely find a weekend to come out here and burn off some energy for a while,” he said.

Ten Brand New and Never-Before-Seen Episodes and Live Action Musical Content will Give Fans One Hour of Peppa Fun Only in Cinemas

Get Ready to Party with 2-Part Episode Special featuring Peppa’s Family and Friends Visiting a Children’s Festival

UK - Join the party in spring 2019 when Entertainment One’s (eOne) beloved preschool series Peppa Pig will be heading back into cinemas nationwide for an all-new big screen adventure to mark the 15 year anniversary of the nation’s favourite little piggy! Set for release from April 2019, Peppa Pig: Festival of Fun is perfectly timed to entertain little ones ahead of the Easter holidays.

The hour-long theatrical release gives preschool audiences 10 brand new and never-before-broadcast episodes featuring a 2-part festival special, complete with new characters and locations. Little piggies can look forward to a whole hour of snorts and giggles with songs to sing along to and dances and movements to join in with; making it the prefect cinema outing for pre-schoolers and all the family to enjoy. Each of the ten brand-new episodes will be connected with never-before-seen interactive entertainment featuring little ones singing and playing along with their favourite onscreen characters.

The new release is part of eOne’s successful My First Cinema Experience format which offers young children a gentle introduction to the cinema for little ones and features the familiar voice talents of Harley Bird (Peppa), Morwenna Banks (Mummy Pig), Richard Ridings (Daddy Pig), Sarah Ann Kennedy (Miss Rabbit) and John Sparkes (narrator).

Peppa Pig My First Cinema Experience took in £3.7 million ($4.7 million) at the U.K. box office in 2017.

Get excited for the upcoming festival season with the release of Peppa Pig: Festival of Fun and join Peppa and George in their brand new ‘oink-tastic’ adventures as they dance in the mud at a children’s festival, celebrate Grandpa Pig’s birthday at a restaurant for the first time, and take a trip to the cinema to see Super Potato’s big movie feature.



Peppa Pig airs on Nick Jr. and Viacom’s Channel 5 Milkshake in the U.K., and on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels globally. No date has been set yet for the new Festival of Fun episodes to run on TV, but the expectation is that they will launch next fall. A DVD and download release will have the new instalments as well as the interactive content.

Peppa Pig is created by Neville Astley and Mark Baker and produced by Astley Baker Davies Ltd and Entertainment One (eOne).

The animated preschool show is one of eOne’s key properties. Last year it announced that 117 new episodes were entering production, which will start airing next year and take the total episode count to 381.

The Peoria Rivermen to Host Nickelodeon Night Featuring PAW Patrol on Saturday, February 16, 2019 ---ScRaBBlE

Peoria, Illinois: Nickelodeon's PAW Patrol is on a roll! The Peoria Rivermen has announced that the professional SPHL ice hockey team will hold a Nickelodeon Night Featuring PAW Patrol on Saturday, February 16, 2019, when the Rivermen face off against Macon Mayhem! The ice hockey match will take place at the Peoria Civic Center (Carver Arena) in Peoria, IL. Puck drops at 7:15 p.m.!

At Paw Patrol Night with the Rivermen, presented by Country Financial fans will get to meet and greet Skye from Nickelodeon's beloved animated preschool series, plus the Rivermen will wear special Paw Patrol inspired jerseys! Skye will be at the game between 6:30pm - 9:00pm.

Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased at Ticketmaster or by calling 309-676-1040.

And that's not all! The Peoria Rivermen will also be hosting Ghostbusters Night with the Rivermen on Friday, February 22, 2019! The game against the Roanoke R.Y. Dawgs will be played at the Peoria Civic Center. The puck drops at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster or by calling 309-676-1040. Now word if Slimer, Mr. Stay Puft or Gozer will be making an appearance, but fingers crossed!
